These are my sweet little girls. I've just realized that I rarely post pictures of them, which I don't even know why since they're the whole reason I wanted to push my love for photography further. These two are the highlight of my life and have the ability to make me go from wanting to spank their little bums and pull my hair out...to giving hugs, laughing my head off, and loving on them all day. Their personalities are so different from each other and they both so unique in so many different ways. Camry tends to be very shy, yet total maniac at the same time, soft spoken, and the biggest cuddle bug you'll ever meet. Eryka is 6 going on 16. She is extremely bossy, sassy, so full of spunk and way too mature for her age that most days I don't know what to do with her. She is at the top of her class in reading, writing and math....luckily for her, she did NOT get my brains! (or lack thereof) These two little rugrats have made me realize that life is so short, goes by way too fast, and there's no room or time to let little moments with our children pass by without recognition. My New Years goal was to take more time for family, play barbies with my girls a little more often, play Chutes & Ladders over and over with Eryka, and to take a minute to stop and really take in what's happening around me.

I am so sorry for being such a blog slacker the past month. I'm usually so much more on top of it, but the past month has been a crazy rat race, now things are finally settling down a little bit and I have a few spare minutes to sit down and blog some sessions. But for now it's Justie's time to shine. I've known Justie and her family my whole life and I can't believe she's a senior already. I still remember when she was just a tiny little girl, and now here she is this beautiful grown up!! On a side note, I've decided that I really love doing senior sessions. They are so fun, laid back and I feel like I can take my time and "try" to use my creative side a little more.

Here are three of the cutest kids around. Hazel wasn't so sure about me or my camera and was really shy. She was twirling and dancing all over the floor but as soon as I pulled up the camera she stopped and went to the corner to get away from me. Lincoln is such a good brother and is quite protective of his new baby sister. At one point I asked if he needed help holding her and he looked at me like I was a crazy person and said "nope, I'm good" ha ha!! Little miss Piper was the sweetest little baby and so snugly. She didn't want to cooperate very well at the beginning and was determined to stay awake, thankfully she gave up and slept like a rock. Also, the mom of these three kiddos is so gorgeous and looks like a total rock star for just having a baby less than a week before pictures!

When Heathers mom booked her session she said wanted it to be a fun photo shoot that focuses on just Heather and shows off all of her beauty, the second I met Heather I knew it wouldn't be hard to do. Scheduling photo shoots is something fun that her mom does for all of her kids that allows them to have a chance to be the only one in the spotlight for a few hours. Heather is such a beautiful young girl and has some of the most striking features. This girls eyes are so intense and something that's very easy to focus on because they just stand out and create this very moody expression. I'm so glad her mom called, they were so fun to be with!

I happen to be related to these guys! Every time Kirsti and I get together we always have so much fun and laugh at just about everything. I did their family pictures last summer, and I cannot even believe how much Haydon has grown up and changed. He still has the most "chill" personality I've ever seen in a little kid, and I think it's totally unfair that he is such a good baby for his mom & dad. Besides being unbelievably mellow....he is the most handsome little guy around and seriously makes my day whenever I see him!

Brandon's only requirement was that there HAD to be pictures with the old truck. Simple as that.

I was able to shoot these pictures for this cute family while we were in Wyoming visiting our own family. We weren't even sure if we were going to be able to do pictures, it had been raining on and off all day and windy. Luck was definitely on our side, because literally 5 minutes before we were about to head up the mountain all of the sudden it stopped raining, no more wind, the sun broke through the clouds and created the warmest lighting. Let's not forget to mention how completely adorable Liya is! That girl is full of spunk and just did her own thing, posed the way she wanted to and totally loved being center of attention!!

We told her to grab and smell the pretty flowers. This little weed is all she was able to wiggle out of the ground.

I found myself having a really hard time narrowing it down to which ones I wanted to post. I really could have posted every single one of them, but that would take me days. These two girls are the cutest things ever, I truly mean that. They both have the sweetest, sassiest, and comical personalities all wrapped in one. Especially Eliza, that girl has so much spunk she cracks me up. Not to mention they are both so incredibly photogenic and did really well as far as paying attention goes which is a miracle in itself when dealing with little kids. But in the end, when I walk away from a session and am able to capture pictures like these little girls is what makes me feel so happy and makes my job so worth while!!

I love this family, and little Peighton hated me! Well...at least hated getting her picture taken by me. She took lots of breaks marching around screaming at us, and I think she downed an entire pack of gum...that was literally the only thing making her happy, that's probably not the healthiest thing for a toddler to have..oops!! It has been a ridiculously long time since I've updated this blog...I have been such a slacker and busy editing that I've just put all the updating on the back burner. I do have a huge stack of sessions that I need to post, so my goal this week is to try and get as caught up as I possibly can. For now, here is this cute little family! They came all the way from Wyoming to get their pictures done and somehow we lucked out with a really nice day considering the day before their session was windy, and rainy. The little boys weren't at all interested in getting pictures done...as you'll see by the faces they're pulling in a few of these, you can really tell how they felt about having my camera in their face. They're still cute as ever, even with the silly faces!

This is my newest little niece Claire Ray. She is the sweetest little baby ever, so mellow and SO loveable! My sister had her last week a whole month early. She had to be in the NICU the whole time she was in the hospital so we weren't able to get any of those very first shots of her after birth in the hospital, but I went over the day they got home and was able to get a few of her at just 2 days old. We didn't get a ton since they were all taken at my sisters house and not the studio, but those first few pictures of little ones are so priceless no matter where they're taken at! You can be sure that you will be seeing a million posts of Claire coming all the time. I am LOVING having a tiny newborn around that I can get my hands on anytime I want to!!!

Isn't she gorgeous? She's got such a fun personality, and she had a trunk full (literally) of the cutest clothes..way to many things to pick from! The original day of her session we got snowed out and the wind was so bitter cold it felt like it was biting your face. I totally thought Spring was on it's way but apparently Winter still feels the need to stick around longer just to annoy me. Thankfully the following weekend we lucked out with a really nice day and we were able to actually get outside and do these pictures. I was excited about it because she's such a good model and really made my job easy. She seriously has flawless skin which required almost zero editing on the face.

You better believe it...TWO full posts in one day, I am on a roll!! I have so many more sessions to get on here so there is going to be lots of updating to check back and see, but right now it's this families turn to shine. Layna, you have 3 of the best dressed little kids I've seen and they are cute as can be. We didn't have the best of luck with the weather this day. There was a huge down pour just before their session time rolled around, then it let up for a bit but by the time we go up the canyon it started coming down again full force. Once we got out of the canyon it stopped, which I was really thankful for because I did not want to cut the session short due to the weather because let's be honest...we all know what a pain it is to get everyone ready, happy, and there on time and nobody wants to have to do it all over again. So even though they had to edure rain and a cold breeze, I think we made it out with some keepers!

I have got a giant amount of blogging I need to get caught up on. Now that the holidays are over, hopefully I can get my life re-organized (which is way past due) and I am really hoping to get my blog caught up with all of the really fun sessions I've been able to do the past few months. This family is among the big bundle of my favorite clients. They are such a great family, and some of the nicest people ever! The idea was to use their horses for some of the pictures and really get that western vibe, yet a classy feel and I think they achieved both looks perfectly. I was able to go to their home to do this session and I have to give them major props for finding this location, the whole set up was awesome.

I can't believe this little cutie is already over a year old. I was looking back when I last did her pictures at 8 months, she looks the exact same just a little bit bigger. Not by much though, she's still really petite and has the smallest little feet I've ever seen! She's full of spunk and has quite the little attitude already but she's still cute as ever. I also just realized that it's been weeks since I've posted anything...man I have been a serious blog slacker. These 3 siblings are so flippin' cute. Even though Ciera (the cute little 2 yr old) didn't want a thing to do with me...I forgive her and still love her sweet little face. Isaac is a typical boy and is obsessed with BUGS! While we were out in the field working on Ciera to even give me the time of day, Isaac was off bug hunting and came back with a handful of grasshoppers and other critters that I myself don't really like getting remotely close to. And little Lexi was just the sweetest baby ever. She didn't cry once but she didn't really care to smile either and just stared at me with those big chocolate chip eyes of hers that are just to die for. So needless to say, they are just adorable little kids with lots of little kid spunk and have the sweetest mom around!

I hope you guys aren't about ready to kill me for taking so long to get these up. I understand if you do. It's been a while. SORRY! These kids are adorable, with the cutest names ever. It made me just kinda want to have 4 boys so I can name them the same. I love them all.

This one made me laugh a little. It's SOOO rough being a boy when you are forced to have your pictures taken. He wanted to cooperate, really he did but sometimes it's just too hard. We actually did get some way cute ones of him whether he wanted it done or not.

When I got the call from Erin saying they would be heading to Texas to pick up their sweet bundle of joy they were so blessed to be able to adopt...I was very excited and could not wait to meet him and do pictures! He was the most mellow baby I have been around in a while, he was awake as soon as he got here but it didn't last long. He slept through the whole session and just let us pose him anyway we wanted. I wanted to keep him here with me, he was so snuggly and sweet! I am so happy for this family and little Jacob that they were able to adopt him.

Ok, for reals these two little girls are probably thee cutest things I have ever seen. At first Nivia did not want a thing to do with me, and was not about to smile. Finally we broke the ice and she warmed right up and was giving some of the cutest girlie giggles ever. We went up the canyon for most of their pictures...even though it was warm around town it was FREEZING up the canyon. These poor girls had to sit in little dresses at first, that wasn't really the highlight of their day but they were SO cute. Such a cute family!!

While my family and I were in Wyoming for my husbands grandpa's funeral, I happened to schedule three appointments for the weekend. This family was one of them. When we first started I was a little nervous we were going to get rained on, but it ended up being perfect weather and able to get some cute pictures of everyone. Their daddy is a fireman and so they wanted to get a few pictures around the fire trucks, this picture was taken on one of the really old firetrucks in the showroom and it ended up being one of my favorites. I think their cute little dog adds a lot to the picture too :)

Ashley had perfect skin too, I didn't have to edit any marks off of her belly or anywhere else for that matter. One day I WILL get caught up on my blogging, editing, and maybe somewhere in between find time to breathe but until then...I will be editing like a mad woman until I AM caught up. If you happen to see me on the street with blood shot eyeballs, frizzy hair from lack of being combed, no make up, and possibly even in my sweat pants...don't be surprised and please don't judge me too harshly. I just love my clients to death because they seem to love me enough to be patient and not come knock down my door asking for their pictures (although I'm sure deep down they'd really like to) please, oh please keep being patient with me just a LITTLE bit longer because my goal is to have most sessions done and in your hands by the end of the week.

You probably remember this fabulous couple from their engagements a few months ago. It's no secret that I love them both. They are both just awesome and are up for anything. When I say anything...I mean literally ANYTHING. For example, Erin hiked out of the canyon and walked through a river with her wedding dress on and Mike sacrificed his nice and dry shoes to help me and Erin across the river while carrying all of my junk. If any of you know me well know that I am such a klutz, seriously I have a hard time walking in flip flops on flat ground let alone across a river bed with water flowing over top of slick mossy rocks. It was definitely a challenge on my part but we made it over the river and through the woods to this unbeatable location that I give major props to Mike and Erin for scouting out months ago. I was really happy that the run off had finally slowed down enough that we could get across the river without getting washed away in the rapids because this spot was so awesome. Besides the unbelievable location...let's not forget to mention these two gorgeous people you are feasting your eyes on. These two have killer serious faces (have you noticed i have been saying "killer"a lot lately?) not sure what's up with that...but anyways they really make me happy as a photographer because working with them is easy and they make looking this beautiful effortless. I also had the pleasure of shooting their wedding day so as soon as I make head way on those pictures I will be posting many more from that night as well.

Beware of some serious cuteness going on here...and a ton of pictures! This cute family came all the way from a little town called Afton, Wyoming (my home town) just to get their pictures done. No lie this time haha!! It might have made their trip a little more worth it having Brandons sister living in Provo...BUT STILL! I have known Brandon and Kirsti for as long as I can remember, we all grew up together and now they have the cutest little baby and have a busy life of their own. I was so happy to see them, it's been such a long time. Anyways, this little boy of theirs is to die for cute. I kept threatening to kidnap him in the middle of the night. Don't tempt me. He was so funny because he didn't change his face expression THE WHOLE NIGHT. That's not even an exaggeration either. We tried our hardest to get a smile out of him, but he wasn't about to budge and after I started editing these I decided who needs to smile when you're as cute as him. Such a doll face!! AND he didn't cry once the whole time. By the way Kirsti...you are not allowed to look that good only 5 months after having a baby.

I just received the saddest news this morning. Alicia Sheffield passed away August 25th-Tuesday morning at 2am with her husband by her side. I was told she went in peace, and the family is just trying to find comfort and wrap their head around the whole situation. Even though they knew it was coming all too soon, it's still never easy dealing with death and the sorrow it brings. Everyone is relieved for Alicia knowing she is no longer in pain and has finally been released from her sick body. I wanted to let everyone know that there has been a donation account set up in Alicia's name at any Central Bank so if you are able to donate even a little bit to this wonderful family PLEASE DO! Every little bit helps and will go along ways. They will need all the financial help and prayers that they can get. My heart goes out to her family and my thoughts and prayers are with them as they try to find the strength to get through this very tragic time. May You Rest In Peace Alicia.

It has been a crazy past few weeks. I haven't had time to blog about anything all I've had time for is photo shoots, editing and trying to squeeze in some family time. My oldest Eryka has started playing soccer, so it's been a lot of fun watching her learn how to play and compete with others...she is so timid and doesn't really like to get in the huddle and go for the ball. But she's enjoying being able to run around and play with some of the girls on her team. Yesterday was her first day of pre-school. This is her third year, and I'm a little afraid that by the time she is ready for kindergarten she will be bored out of her mind and sick of school. ANYWAYS, so we've been really busy and I'm trying to get caught up on blogging. So back to this family; I think these kids are super cute and we got some good shots until the end when Lauren decided that she was so done with pictures and was not about to take one more. So we had to cut the session short. Hopefully when she's in a better mood we will have a chance to try again! Also...not really sure why I am not able to upload some of their family pictures? I have a sweet computer sometimes.

Rose came all the way from California just to get her senior pictures done. Ok, ok that wasn't her ONLY reason for coming to Utah, she came to be with her family too but I was honored that they thought of me! Rose is a really sporty girl who loves Utah. She kept saying she wishes she could live here and yes I agree Utah IS pretty awesome but living so close to Disney Land--now who wouldn't want that? hehe!! Thanks for coming Rose, you're a sweetie.

Once again we are all lucky enough to be able to check out these two cutie pies again! Their mom warned me when I very first took their pictures (a month ago hehe) that she was a little obsessed with getting her kid's pictures taken. I just laughed at her because let's be honest...what mom ISN'T obsessed? And after I got to spend a few hours with them the first time I knew I wouldn't mind them coming back again and again because they are both just too cute for words. And their eyes....do I even need to mention their eyes? I cannot get over how blue they are. Those babies aren't even enhanced one bit. The main reason for us getting together and doing these pictures was for Rhaegan who just had her first birthday! I think she has changed a lot since the last time I saw her a month ago. Darn kids needs to stop growing up so fast, it's depressing.

This face of hers was so funny. She kept trying to bark like a little puppy so in order to get her attention I kept asking her where the puppy was, and if she could see the little puppy...at the split second I said "where's the puppy" a real dog barked, and her eyes got huge and she just stared at me like...WOW how did you know? haha

This is a pose I get out of my girls regularly. It is a rare occassion when they are both looking, and both smiling at the same time. It's practically impossible. And that's how it was with these two, they were so funny! I'd get ones attention long enough to get a good smile, but the other was looking off or in Rhaegans case--trying to eat the dirt while Brynli is busy smiling. I was laughing so hard because it's just one of those things where you take what you can get when it comes to little kids. Even if it is one like this with the oldest hugging the baby so tight so she wont escape. Gotta love it :)

Another act all parents can relate to...the older one dragging the little one by their hands, and the poor little ones trying to move their feet as fast as they can before they biff it.

This is a very special posting for this family and for me personally. I received a very touching email one day from a woman named Pam who knew a family I did pictures for and she just loved them. So she contacted me hoping I would be available to do some urgent family pictures for one of her great friends Alicia & Jared. As I read through her email I began getting extremely choked up. Alicia is only 32 with 4 adorable little kids, her oldest being 12 and youngest only 3 years old. She has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and just found out she only has 3-6 months left to live. She has a very aggressive form of cancer and it has spread through out her whole body now. I was SO honored to do these pictures for her and her precious family. If any of you know me well, you know I am a big time bawl baby and cry over just about anything. I knew this would be a very hard situation so I tried my hardest to compose myself during their session...they didn't need me chiming in too. But when I got home and uploaded their pictures on my computer I sat and stared at this beautiful woman and her family and I literally sat and sobbed. I cannot even imagine my life without MY mom and I'm older, let alone these 4 little kids not being able to have a mom. Alicia was such an inspiration to me. She is such a strong woman who even though is in excruciating pain all of the time...never did she complained once about her legs hurting, or being so tired she couldn't stand to stay awake any longer. She just sat there and smiled through it all and was so grateful that I came to do their pictures. I really wanted to capture some special moments with her and her kids, because some of these pictures are the only things her kids will have to remember her by. As soon as I met them, I knew their session would be how I thought it would go...just sweet and simple! Because they are such a sweet and simple family whose love for each other is so strengthening to be around. Alicia's sister told me a story of how Alicia really knew how to throw a great party, every year for her kids birthdays she'd go all out for each kid to have a very special day...and even though there will come a day when Alicia is no longer able to be with her family--the memories of their sweet and beautiful mom will live in their hearts forever and her strength, and love will leave the greatest legacy for her family. Thank you so much Pam for thinking of me, I am so happy you did!

It's about time I get the rest of these posted. I'm tellin' ya it has been crazy around here. I had 3 sessions right in a row this week, July was booked out so I'm working my tail end off trying to get caught up on everyone's pictures and out the door. Anyways, this is my older brother and his family. We got started pretty late in the evening so we didn't have a whole lot of time for lighting, but we started at the perfect time for the sunset. I love the shots with them on their horses, it is the best way to define who they are. They are very outdoorsy and love horses. Even little Maddy LOVES to ride and absolutely HATES when it's time to get off. She's good enough to ride alone and she's not even 3 yet.

Holy cow, it has taken me a while to get to this session. Sorry about that Krista, I am so backed up with editing it's been a pain trying to catch up. But now I am done and finally posting. Shane and Krista are really outdoorsy and loving being in the mountains. So we drove way up past Brighton Ski resort to do their session. I mean we're talking HIGH up in the mountains. We hiked quite a bit this day and I WAS DIEING. Seriously I couldn't hardly breathe & talk at the same time. It doesn't help that I am soooo out of shape. Also the mosquito's were horrid. It just rained before we got up there and then the sun came out so it was a swarm everywhere we stepped. There were a few times they were so bad we couldn't swat them away fast enough to even get situated for a picture. Nasty things anyway. These guys are really fun to be around and we had a few good laughs so I really enjoyed their session a lot!!

..A Day Out..

We took the kids to the carnival and I was SO happy to have a day out together as a family. Lately I have been gone every weekend on photo shoots, if I'm not gone on a session I'm editing all the time. So we just don't get much family time anymore. It was super hot at the fair, thankfully there was lots of shade but wasn't much of a breeze so it was still sweaty and gross. Camry didn't care for the rides one bit, she cried the entire time on the only one we got her on. Eryka loved every minute of it and wanted to stay longer. But it was time for Cam's nap, lunch and we headed out of town for my family reunion. Love my family to pieces. And NO you aren't seeing things...I REALLY am in a picture for once. Doesn't happen very often that's for sure.

I really just want to kiss her cheeks off. She is so funny, and it such a cheeser!

I wasn't actually able to be there for their "real" wedding because I was out of town shooting a reception. So we did these the day before they got married. I felt really bad I wasn't able to be there for the real big day. But SUPER happy I was around to do these because I love them all...hence the thousands posted. Matt & Lyndsie are soooo cute together, we all laughed our butts off as you'll notice when you scroll through these. I had a lot of fun with them both. I am happy these are done (okay i have like 5 more and THEN i'm done) Thanks Lyndsie for trying your hardest to be patient. By the way, Lyndsie is an AWESOME hairdresser. Sarah & Steven were SO much fun to be around on their wedding day, and so was every member of their family. It was a very memorable day even for me. Steven was crackin' jokes left and right and Sarah was beautiful & glowing and just so happy! I had a lot of fun shooting their wedding and getting to know each of their family members & friends. I was also able to go to Wyoming and shoot at their reception (those are to come later) and that was such a blast so I can't wait to get those pictures up!!! For some reason my computer is being special and won't let me upload the pictures of Sarah & the bridesmaids...weird. Maybe I will be able to post those with the reception. We had a great weekend. My whole family came to Utah and us adults were able to go to a late movie WITHOUT any kids--ahhh it was great. Thanks to my oldest sister who kept all the kids. It was so nice going on a date and not having to worry about kids. Saturday morning we all went and had breakfast together and then hit up Seven Peaks for the day, it was so much fun!! I didn't do a stitch of editing all weekend (until late Sunday night of course ;) and it was just nice being with family and laughing till tears came out! Starting this week I have got a lot of editing to get done...A LOT.

Holy ADORABLE! These little girls are so cute! Their mom wanted to get some outside pictures and when I woke up this morning it was cold, raining, and super over cast but thankfully by the time their session rolled around the sun had finally broke through and warmed up. I did these three cute kids' little family pictures about a month ago, and when I got home and started editing their pictures I realized that the best pictures of all 3 of them together had a great big sun streak acrossed the picture. The sun hit my lens just right and RUINED THE PICTURES...EERRR!!! I guess that's what I get for not checking them all before we moved on to the next spot. I felt so bad and made Brandy get together again to re-do the kids pictures..thanks so much for meeting me again these ones turned out much better, and the sun wasn't even shining so we made it out with no sun streaks.

Here are more pictures of that awesome couple. It seems like there are a bazillion but I had the hardest time narrowing it down to which ones I should post. There were SO many good ones. Erin & Mike were such a blast to be around and so easy to get along with. I felt like we have been friends our whole lives. Love it when that happens. This sessions was a ton of fun too, and we all got our excercise in for the day. We hiked a few mountain sides, climbed a few rocks, and I got some blistered toes (Erin might have too since we were both wearing flip flops) but we got some awesome shots and I am so excited for them to see the rest. These two are so in love, so happy and just FUN! I was up until 3:30am editing-that's how much fun these are. (haha) Let me know what you think..hope you love them!

Funny story about Sarah. I actually went to school with her and I haven't seen or talked to her in ages...just like the rest of the people from school. Anyways, she contacted me wanting to do her bridals, wedding and reception after seeing pictures I did of her cousin and his wife. I was stoked! How great it is to get refferals from another shoot. Sarah came all the way to Utah from Wyoming to do her bridals...no pressure right?! :) Weather wise it was perfect, BUT the place we went had loads of bugs, I mean we're talkin' misquitos the size of my hand almost. I had bug bites all over me (like in my hairline & behind my ear) Her and her mom were such troopers though, holy cow! Trudging through deep sand IN a wedding dress WITH gigantic bugs swarming over her in humidity. You'd never know it because of how flawless and beautiful she looks, but really there were bugs all around her (and me, AND her poor mom) Can't wait for her wedding next month!!

I am pretty much speechless with how gorgeous Lyndsie is. And her dress? ahhh that's a whole other story. It was gorgeous, it made me want to hop into my wedding dress again and get all dolled up. She is a hair dresser so her hair was perfect of course and I was just obsessing over it. I went to Utah county to do her pictures so everything was a new location for me and I was in heaven. I loved every minute of our session and I love the lighting in these too....it was a perfect day!

I'm finally getting around to posting more from this senior shoot. First of all, the weather was perfect. Second of all, Stormy is beautiful. Third of all, I had a lot of fun with her and getting to know about life in highschool in the bigger cities. Since I am from a little town in Wyoming where I'm pretty sure there's more livestock than there are people and the only "formal" dances we had was Prom and Homecoming. Other than that people come stag in muddy jeans from the barn. (ok I'm exaggerating a little bit--buuut only a little bit) And last but not least you can't beat scoring some new locations either...so all in all I'd say it was a pretty successful day!

You might remember these two adorable brothers from clear back in January when I did Luke's 6 month pictures. I was excited to get them again for an afternoon because they are always so well behaved and SO cute! It's always nice to have clients return because they just seem to know how the routine goes, and I always get great results. Luke is now NINE MONTHS already, man alive I cannot believe it. Seriously I want to know where the time goes when it comes to these little kids growing so fast? I just wanted to post these 3 pictures for now since I HAVE to go to bed early tonight. I'll hopefully get some more posted in the next day or two...enjoy these for now!
